About Us

Our Story

The idea of developing strong and portable travel rods was first conceived during a trip to Rio Amazonas in 2011 when a Singaporean and two French anglers met in Brazil.

Due to the unavailability of travel rods for their specialized fishing, the team set out to design rods for their monster quest – multi section rods that could be packed in small haversacks for ease of travelling, with the sensitivity of a single piece rod, yet robust enough to handle a powerful fish. After extensive developments and many trips later, the first Jabbers rod was launched in 2018 – the Jabbers Wanderlust, a five piece travel rod with an extended butt that can be used for casting lures as well as saltwater jigging.

Our Philosophy

Every Jabbers rod is marked by a unique character, and the result of extensive testing in the intended environment against the target species.

Today, the Jabbers rods have been fished on every continent of the planet, with the except of Antarctica, and the brand is now a mark of trust for adventure anglers all around the world. Like a jab punch, the strike of a Jabbers rod is clean, swift and decisive. The sensitivity and strength of every Jabbers rod allows the anglers to feel and predict the movements of their opponent in the wild environment, enabling him to react and tame the fish in the shortest possible time. This results in minimal trauma so the fish can be released quickly and safely to the wild. The Jabbers product range has since grown quickly but carefully to include lures, tools, terminal tackle, apparel and bags. Every product is designed with adventure anglers in mind, and we will not launch a product that the team doesn’t use.

My wild discovery
So glad I was fortunate enough to discover Jabbers after a trip to Australia brought the brand to my attention. Always searching for something better, finally the search has ended and I now have a sizable collection of Jabbers gear. From the ultralight Pleasure Seeker to the Rage Receiver and Game Changers, the good people at Jabbers have all bases covered and then some. By traveling the world constantly innovating and testing, if they don’t have it I don’t need it. With a quiver of specialized rods that punch way above their weight class when the need arises, lures, hooks and the Carapace backpack that went from “Oh, that’s pretty cool” to never leave home without it, everywhere I go is so much easier and more productive. Thank You Jabbers!

Simple, reliable, deadly.
Jabbers products are just amazing. I had the opportunity to get my hands on the jigs and assist hooks, the nervosa minnows and the absolutely mind blowing waterproof backpack. They all are incredibly well made, with very nice details. And you will find in all this details in the hand of a fisherman that produces products that work very good for fishermen, not just to sell big numbers

I wanted to write a review for Jabbers rods for a while. In my book, they rate exceptional in all the five most important categories...Sensitivity, Versatility, Balance, Feel, Durability and most importantly Customer Service. Their 5 piece construction makes them easy for transportation when traveling. Can't say enough about these rods!

I love using the Jabbers range of rods. I have the Game Changer 75, the Jamboree and the Urban Beats Deft Flicker, and they cover all my needs. The quality is superb and being multi-piece rods means it's so easy to pack them when traveling to my different fishing destinations. The Jamboree is my favorite and has handled snapper, large silver trevally and big King George whiting with ease!

"The Jabbers Beast Flogger proved itself beyond expectation on my recent trip to the Mentawai Islands chasing Black Bass. The 5 piece design was invaluable for travel, saving time at airports by avoiding oversize baggage waits and providing peace of mind by fitting safely in my carry on. On the water, the Beast Flogger handled everything both I and the fish demanded of it. It loaded smoothly, provided complete control over hard fighting Black Bass, and delivered excellent casting performance. The ability to cast accurately from a distance was a real advantage when a stealthy approach was required to avoid spooking fish in clear water or pressured areas. I highly recommend the Beast Flogger as a premium choice for targeting big, powerful fish, particularly when travel is involved. Its compact design also makes it a practical option to keep in the car or boat, reducing the risk of damage while ensuring it’s always ready when needed."

In 2019 i was fortunate to join a group of anglers fishing for sailfish in Rompin, Malaysia. Each boat had a skipper, a deckhand and 4 anglers. One of Our crew was Isaac Tang from Singapore and a former tackle designer with Mustad. Isaac asked if he could peruse the photos on the tablet i was using And was particularly interested in my pics of PNG black bass. Isaac was in the process of designing a rod to target the bass, and when told I was returning to Lake Murray in PNG in a month or so he enquired if i could Test out his prototype 5 piece travel rod on the trip. It was called a ‘rage Receiver’, and rated t0 60lb. I almost choked with amusement and muttered Something like ‘it will be a 10 piece rod after a black bass gets hold of it”. He convinced me to try the rod and give an honest appraisal of it’s Performance. The first time i used it i landed a 44lb PNG black bass and was amazed and surprised how well the rod performed. A few months later, the Second time i used the rod was casting large surface lures (made by C.J Wilson- ‘Thirsty Lures’ at Copeton dam. Just on dark, and hour after starting fishing I hooked and landed a 1.20 metre ( 96cm girth) Murray cod weighing 78lb. I was Totally convinced about this new rod by now, especially with the luck it was Bringing me. The third time i used it was catching 15-18kg bluefin tuna off Port Lincoln Since then, I have acquired an arsenal of Jabbers rods…they provide a Huge range from ultra-light finesse rods like ‘the pleasure seeker’ which is great for our smaller species like gar, yellowfin and King George whitings, then progress through multiple choices, like ‘Urban Beats’’ ‘Fin Raiser’, Deft flicker’, ‘Snake Charmer’ and heaps more., covering all types of targeted fish. I recently took the rods to Tasmania chasing kilo plus whiting on light line. In my case I had 4 other 5 piece ‘jabbers rods’ with a total weight of 3 kilograms. I saved $200 in extra costs I normally pay for oversize baggage for a rod tube. The other great advantage of these rods is the fact you can readily obtain replacement parts for any broken sections. ‘Tumby Tom’ Tierney
